WHEN PLACEMENT HAPPENS SUDDENLY, WE'RE HERE TO HELP.
Emergency Essentials for Foster, Adoptive & Kinship Families
A new placement can happen with little warning. Children may arrive with only the clothes they're wearing, and caregivers often have very little time to prepare.
That's why we're here.
The NewLife Foster Closet, in partnership with Foster Closet of Michigan, provides essential items to help children and families navigate the first hours and days of a new placement.
IMMEDIATE NEEDS. PRACTICAL SUPPORT. GENUINE CARE.
We provide access to:
Clothing: New and gently used clothing, newborn through teen sizes.
Shoes: Everyday footwear in a variety of sizes.
Diapers & Wipes: Essential supplies for infants and toddlers.
Baby Essentials: Bottles, blankets, burp cloths, and other necessities.
Hygiene Products: Shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and personal care items.
Socks & Underwear: New items in available sizes.
Comfort Items: Stuffed animals, blankets, and other items that offer reassurance.
Additional Essentials: Backpacks and other practical supplies as available.
All items are provided based on current inventory and availability.
A RESOURCE FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION
We want to partner with foster care agencies, adoption organizations, caseworkers, and placement coordinators throughout Lenawee County.
When a child enters a new home, you can connect the family with us for practical assistance.
Our goal is to help reduce the immediate stress of a new placement so caregivers can focus on what matters most—welcoming and caring for the child.
BECAUSE THE FIRST MOMENTS MATTER.
A clean set of clothes. A pair of shoes that fits. Diapers for the night. A comforting stuffed animal.
These may seem like small things, but during an unexpected transition, they can make an enormous difference.
You care for the child. We're here to help with the essentials.
LET'S WORK TOGETHER.
We welcome connections with agencies and professionals serving children and families through foster care, adoption, and kinship care.
